It was all going so well. However, the compressor we were hiring developed a fault and today became an enforced rest day. This was frustrating given another day of great diving weather, but we were presented with an opportunity to do some searching of a terrestrial nature along the beautiful coastline of Hermaness. This revealed fulmar and gannet colonies and close-up views of mean-looking bonxies.
We’re putting gas plan B into effect and picking up a full complent of filled tanks from Lerwick this evening in time for a resumption of the diving tomorrow morning, but not before we’ve enjoyed the results of Declan and Annette’s sea fishing expedition this morning, thanks to their skill and the newly functional fish finder on the RIB!
